CM Mann inaugurates two Schools of Eminence in Ludhiana
New campuses at Kidwai Nagar and Miller Ganj feature smart classrooms, science and computer labs, sports facilities and modern infrastructure

Ludhiana (Punjab), August 2, 2026: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann on Sunday inaugurated newly developed Schools of Eminence at Kidwai Nagar and Miller Ganj (Dholewal) in Ludhiana, highlighting the state government’s focus on strengthening public education infrastructure.
The inaugurations were held as part of the Punjab government’s education reform initiative. During the visit, Mann inspected the new school buildings, smart classrooms and other facilities and interacted with students.
Addressing a gathering, the Chief Minister said quality education was essential to building a strong foundation for children and enabling them to achieve their future goals.
“Education is the first step towards a child’s success. If the foundation is strong, children can reach any milestone in life,” Mann said, adding that the government aimed to provide quality education to children from economically weaker and middle-income families and ensure that they had access to opportunities comparable to those available in private schools.
The School of Eminence at Kidwai Nagar has been equipped with more than 40 modern classrooms, science and computer laboratories, dedicated sports facilities and a CCTV surveillance system, according to the government.
The Miller Ganj campus has been provided with projectors, smart screens, science laboratories and an RO-based drinking water system, among other facilities.
The Chief Minister said the schools would provide students with access to modern learning resources and support their academic and overall development. Special provisions have also been made for sports, arts and coaching for competitive examinations, he added.
Mann said the government’s initiatives in the education sector had helped restore public confidence in government schools. He claimed that an increasing number of parents were moving their children from private schools to Schools of Eminence.
The Chief Minister also highlighted the state government’s teacher-training initiatives, including exposure programmes in countries such as Finland and Singapore, aimed at introducing educators to modern teaching methods.
“Government schools are no longer limited to being just buildings. They are becoming centres where children’s aspirations can take flight,” Mann said.
He added that the state government was continuing to strengthen educational infrastructure in both rural and urban areas and would work towards expanding similar facilities across Punjab.
Senior officials of the Education Department, local legislators, students and parents were present at the inauguration ceremony.
