Sri Guru Granth Sahib World University signs MoU with Jagat Guru Nanak Dev Punjab State Open University

Fatehgarh Sahib (Punjab), July 21, 2026: Sri Guru Granth Sahib World University, Fatehgarh Sahib, has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Jagat Guru Nanak Dev Punjab State Open University, Patiala, with an objective of further strengthening academic collaboration, research and institutional development.
The MoU was signed in the presence of Prof. (Dr.) Prit Pal Singh, Vice Chancellor, Sri Guru Granth Sahib World University, and Prof. (Dr.) Ratan Singh, Vice Chancellor, Jagat Guru Nanak Dev Punjab State Open University. The memorandum was signed by Prof. Tejbir Singh, Registrar, Sri Guru Granth Sahib World University, and Dr. Kuldeep Walia, Registrar and Director, IQAC, Jagat Guru Nanak Dev Punjab State Open University. On this occasion, Prof. (Dr.) Sukhwinder Singh Billing, Dean Academic Affairs, and Dr. Ankdeep Kaur Attwal, Director, IQAC, Sri Guru Granth Sahib World University, were also present.
This partnership will promote teaching and learning, research, curriculum development, faculty development, skill-based education and the sharing of resources. Under this collaboration, both the universities will organize joint seminars, conferences, workshops, faculty development programmes and research projects for students, teachers and researchers.
A significant feature of this MoU is the establishment of the Learner Support Centre (LSC) of Jagat Guru Nanak Dev Punjab State Open University at the campus of Sri Guru Granth Sahib World University. In addition, dual degree programmes will be facilitated in accordance with the UGC guidelines. The agreement will also encourage the sharing of academic infrastructure, faculty expertise, library resources, laboratories and learning materials.
On the occasion, Prof. (Dr.) Prit Pal Singh said that this collaboration will further strengthen the University’s commitment to innovation, interdisciplinary education and academic excellence. He added that the partnership will create new opportunities for joint research, faculty exchange and the holistic development of students.
Prof. (Dr.) Ratan Singh said that this MoU will not only broaden access to quality higher education but also provide new direction to skill development, innovation and collaborative research. He informed that the MoU has been signed for a period of five years and may be renewed further by mutual consent of both institutions.
