Class 9 student Yashvi Kamboj secures first position in Chandigarh in ‘Art from Waste’ competition

Chandigarh, September 28, 2026: Yashvi Kamboj, a Class IX student of Sharda Sarvhitkari School, Sector 40, Chandigarh, has secured first position in the city in an ‘Art from Waste’ competition.
The competition was organised by Dr Ambedkar Institute of Hotel Management, Sector 42, Chandigarh, as part of programmes marking World Tourism Day and Swachhta Pakhwada.
Students from 15 Chandigarh schools participated in various competitions, including art from waste materials, Rangoli-making and poster-making.
Yashvi created her winning artwork using everyday waste and discarded materials, including pistachio shells, wooden spoons, bangles, cardboard and chart paper.
In recognition of her achievement, the institute presented Yashvi with a winner’s trophy and certificate.
