Chandigarh, February 10, 2026: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann on Monday issued a crucial and reassuring statement regarding the state’s ₹10 lakh health insurance scheme, asserting that no resident of Punjab will be deprived of quality medical treatment due to financial constraints.
The Chief Minister clarified that under the scheme, every Punjabi family will be entitled to free medical treatment worth up to ₹10 lakh annually.
He said the process of issuing beneficiary cards is progressing rapidly and free treatment under the scheme has already begun in hospitals across the state.
Taking strong exception to the rumours being spread by opposition parties, CM Mann said certain anti-Punjab elements are deliberately misleading the public by circulating false and baseless information about the health scheme.
“The claims being made by the opposition are completely untrue. This scheme is fully implemented and will benefit every deserving person,” he said.
Reiterating the government’s commitment to strengthening the healthcare system, the Chief Minister stated that the Aam Aadmi Party-led government is determined to bring major improvements in medical facilities in Punjab. He described the ₹10 lakh health insurance scheme as a boon for the people, especially for families who were earlier unable to afford expensive medical treatment.
