CGC Landran hosts Pre-Summit of AI Impact Summit 2026, highlights AI-Driven Research and Innovation

Chandigarh, February 10, 2026: Chandigarh Group of Colleges (CGC), Landran, in association with ACIC RISE Association (supported by the Atal Innovation Mission, NITI Aayog) and in collaboration with the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), successfully hosted the Pre-Summit Event of the ‘AI Impact Summit 2026’, centred on the theme “Convergence of AI-Driven Research & Innovation.”
The pre-summit event underscored CGC Landran’s emerging role as a catalyst for AI-enabled research, innovation, and national capacity building.
Envisioned as a collaborative platform, the initiative brought together stakeholders from academia, industry, government, policy circles, and startups to deliberate on leveraging AI-driven research and innovation for inclusive societal development.
Aligned with the national vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat, Industry 5.0, and AI-led sustainable growth, the event promoted interdisciplinary research, strengthened institutional innovation ecosystems under the Institution Innovation Council (IIC) framework, and encouraged entrepreneurship and startup engagement.
It also focused on capacity building among faculty, researchers, and students in emerging domains such as Generative AI and Agentic AI, while facilitating knowledge exchange on innovation policies, research translation, and commercialization opportunities.
The inaugural ceremony featured addresses by Prof. (Dr.) Neha Sharma, Dean (Research and Development), and Chief Guest Prof. (Dr.) H. S. Jattana, Former Scientist-G, Department of Space, Government of India.
Nirmal Nambiar, Founder and CEO of Oqlous AGI, shared industry insights, while Dr. Onkar Nath Tiwari, Scientist-F, Department of Biotechnology, delivered a virtual address on the convergence of biotechnology and artificial intelligence.
Ankush Gawri, Innovation Manager, MoE Innovation Cell, AICTE, highlighted the importance of entrepreneurship and institutional collaboration.
A panel discussion titled “Startup Samvaad: AI as a Bridge for Inclusive Societal Development” followed, featuring insightful deliberations by industry leaders and startup founders including Mr. Lovelash Dutt, Ms. Gayatri Rana, Mr. Amit Kesle, Mr. Anish Kumar, and Ms. Nishu Jain. The session was moderated by Mr. Abhinav Pundir and Ms. Sonia Jindal.
The third session showcased regional AI-driven startups such as ConvertWise, Byteloom, Oqlous (Super Manager AGI), Varuna, and TestprepGPT before visiting investors. This was followed by an exclusive workshop titled “Leveraging AI to Translate Academic Research into Industry 5.0 Applications,” led by experts including Dr. Jagriti Saini, Mr. Puneet Verma, Mr. Ajitpal Singh Brar, and Mr. Ankur Dinesh Garg.
The event concluded with valedictory remarks and a vote of thanks by Prof. (Dr.) Dinesh Arora, IPR Head, Department of RISE, and Dr. Deepika Sharma, Head, Publications Department, RISE.
The Pre-Summit Event reaffirmed CGC Landran and ACIC RISE’s role as key drivers of AI-led research, innovation, and entrepreneurship, setting the stage for the upcoming AI Impact Summit 2026 in India.
