Big Breaking: CBI Raids Punjab Vigilance Headquarters in Mohali After Arresting Alleged Middleman in ₹25 Lakh Bribery Case; Reader to Vigilance Chief Also Booked

Chandigarh, May 12, 2026: In a major development, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested an alleged middleman, Raghav Goel, in connection with a bribery case involving ₹25 lakh and recovered ₹13 lakh in cash from his possession.
According to unofficial sources, O.P. Rana, Reader to Punjab Vigilance Bureau Chief S.S. Rana, has also been named in the case. He reportedly managed to leave the spot before being apprehended.
The arrest is learnt to have been made at a five-star hotel in the city.
In a significant follow-up action, a CBI team also conducted a late-night raid at the head office of the Punjab Vigilance Bureau in Mohali.
Sources indicate that the CBI is examining the possible role of other senior Vigilance Bureau officers in the matter.
Notably, while the CBI is carrying out searches and related proceedings, neither the CBI nor the Punjab Vigilance Bureau had issued any official statement confirming these developments at the time of filing this report.
