Deputy Commissioner-cum-Principal Census Officer, Fazilka, Amarpreet Kaur Sandhu, chaired a meeting with the Additional Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Census Officer, all Sub-Divisional Magistrates-cum-Sub-Divisional Census Officers, and Charge Officers regarding the conduct of Census-2027.
During the meeting, she informed the officers that the Government of India is conducting Census-2027 from May 15, 2026, to June 13, 2026. She emphasized the importance of ensuring the smooth and efficient implementation of the census operations across the district.
The Deputy Commissioner stated that the primary objective of the census is to collect accurate and updated data regarding the socio-economic status of the population.
This information will help the government formulate and implement public welfare schemes more effectively and ensure better planning for the overall development of society.
Appealing to all residents of the district, she urged them to extend full cooperation to the enumerators when they visit households for the survey.
She stressed the importance of providing correct and updated information to facilitate the preparation of a reliable database.
She also highlighted the need to maintain transparency, ensure accuracy in data collection, and strictly adhere to the prescribed timelines during the census process.
Among those present at the meeting were Deputy ESA-cum-Additional District Census Officer Harjinder Singh, Aman Girdhar, Surinder Kamboj, and officials from the District Census Cell, including Vivek Kataria, Ashish Kumar, and Varinder Kumar.
