CM Mann should resign immediately in respect to Sri Akal Takth Sahib’s directives: Kewal Singh Dhillon
Babushahi Bureau
Chandigarh, June 15, 2026: Bharatiya Janata Party Punjab President Sardar Kewal Singh Dhillon has stated that the five Singh Sahibs have declared Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann as Guru Dokhi and anti-Khalsa Panth in connection with the objectionable video showing liquor being sprinkled on an image of the Guru Sahibs. Along with this, an order has also been issued directing Sikhs of the Guru Khalsa Panth not to maintain any kind of association with him.
Sri Akal Takht Sahib is the highest temporal authority of the Sikh community, and every directive issued from there is respected and accepted by the Guru Nanak Naam-Leva Sangat.
Sardar Dhillon said that when a person is declared Guru Dokhi and anti-Khalsa Panth by Sri Akal Takht Sahib, it carries serious social and moral consequences. In such circumstances, Sikh ministers and officials serving within the Punjab Government may also find themselves in an uncomfortable position. This situation could potentially affect the government's administrative functioning and decision-making process, which is not in the interest of the border state of Punjab.
He further stated that, considering the seriousness of the matter, Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann should accept moral responsibility and immediately resign from his office.
