Senior PCS officer Simarpreet Kaur of the 2014 batch has assumed charge as the Additional Commissioner of the Patiala Municipal Corporation on Monday
Speaking on the occasion, Simarpreet Kaur said that in line with the priorities of the Punjab Government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, and under the guidance of Mayor Kundan Gogia and Municipal Commissioner Pooja Syal Grewal, her foremost priority will be to ensure the delivery of improved civic services to residents and the timely completion of development projects across the city.
The newly appointed Additional Commissioner stated that the cleanliness drive initiated recently in the city through the Hybrid Sanitation Model by Local Government Minister Harjot Singh Bains will be further strengthened to make Patiala a model city in terms of cleanliness. She added that several organizations are already contributing towards sanitation efforts in the city, and the Municipal Corporation will seek their active cooperation to enhance cleanliness standards.
On assuming office, Simarpreet Kaur was warmly welcomed by Joint Commissioner Manreet Rana and officers and employees from various branches of the Municipal Corporation.
It is noteworthy that Simarpreet Kaur, a 2014-batch PCS officer, has held several key administrative positions during her distinguished career. She has served as Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) in Patiala and Mansa, Assistant Commissioner (General) and Assistant Commissioner (Grievances) in Patiala, Additional Chief Administrator of the Patiala Development Authority (PDA), Secretary of the Punjab Public Service Commission (PPSC), and Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) at Nabha, Dirba, Dudhansadhan, and Tapa. She has also rendered services in the Excise, Water Supply & Sanitation, and Public Works Departments.
