- Himachal: HRTC employees announce indefinite strike, Government invokes ESMA

  Shimla, June 24, 2026: Around 2800 buses will remain off the roads as Himachal Road Transport Corporation (HRTC) employees have announced indefinite strike from today June 24 midnight. Meanwhile the state government has invoked Essential Services and Maintenance Act (ESMA) to stop employees for resorting to strike.
  
  Mann Singh Thakur President of HRTC’s drive union said that our arrears have crossed Rs. 150 crores as government has failed to provide us overtime for past six years besides arrears of pay commission.
