Bomb threat emails sent to Chandigarh Schools and Haryana CM’s office; Security heightened

Chandigarh, July 1, 2026: Security agencies were put on high alert on Wednesday after multiple schools in Chandigarh and the office of Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini reportedly received bomb threat emails.
The threats triggered an immediate response from the police and security personnel, particularly as schools in Chandigarh reopened today after the summer vacation.
Among the institutions that reportedly received the threatening emails were First Air Force School, Sector 31; Government Model Senior Secondary Schools, Sectors 37-B and 37-D; Vivek High School, Sector 38; Sacred Heart School, Sector 26; Strawberry Fields High School, Sector 26; Delhi Public School (DPS), Sector 40; and Carmel Convent School, Sector 9.
Following the alerts, police teams and bomb disposal squads were deployed to the affected locations, and security measures were intensified as precautionary checks were carried out.
Authorities have launched an investigation to trace the origin of the emails and determine their authenticity. No suspicious objects had been reported at the time of filing this report, and further details are awaited.
