Chandigarh, July 1, 2026: The Punjab Government on Wednesday launched the disbursement of its monthly financial assistance scheme for women, with Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann digitally transferring the first instalments directly into beneficiaries’ bank accounts through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system.
Under the scheme, women belonging to the Scheduled Caste (SC) category will receive ₹1,500 per month, while women from the General and other categories will receive ₹1,000 per month.
The state government said it has released the benefits for July, August and September together, and the amount is expected to start reflecting in beneficiaries’ bank accounts from Wednesday.
Addressing a programme to mark the launch, Chief Minister Mann said the government had fulfilled its commitment to provide financial assistance to women across the state. He also asserted that the scheme would continue in the future.
“This scheme will never be discontinued. We have fulfilled the promise we made to the women of Punjab,” the Chief Minister said.
Mann said the initiative was aimed at empowering women and recognising their contribution to society. He further claimed that the government has ensured that public funds are reaching beneficiaries directly through DBT, while emphasising transparency in the delivery of welfare schemes.
The monthly honorarium scheme is one of the Punjab Government’s flagship welfare initiatives aimed at providing direct financial support to eligible women across the state.
