To ensure the smooth and time-bound implementation of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR)-2026 of the electoral rolls, Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Election Officer (DEO) Komal Mittal today visited Polling Booths 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 16 and 21 in SAS Nagar to review the ongoing distribution of Enumeration Forms and monitor the progress of the house-to-house survey being carried out by Booth Level Officers (BLOs).
During her visit, Komal Mittal interacted with BLOs and election officials to assess the pace of the enumeration exercise and issued directions to ensure that every eligible elector is reached within the stipulated time frame.
She emphasized that the Special Intensive Revision is a crucial exercise aimed at preparing an accurate, updated and error-free electoral roll by facilitating the inclusion of all eligible voters while removing ineligible entries in accordance with the guidelines of the Election Commission of India.
The District Election Officer instructed officials to maintain close coordination and ensure that the distribution and collection of Enumeration Forms are carried out efficiently, transparently and in a voter-friendly manner.
She also stressed the importance of creating public awareness so that every eligible elector actively participates in the revision process and submits the required information on time.
Appealing to the residents of the district, Komal Mittal urged citizens to extend full cooperation to the Booth Level Officers during their door-to-door visits. She said that timely submission of Enumeration Forms will help ensure that eligible voters are included in the electoral rolls and their electoral details remain accurate and up to date.
The distribution and collection of Enumeration Forms under SIR-2026 will continue until July 24, 2026. Electors can also schedule an appointment with their respective Booth Level Officer through ECINet for assistance or obtain information by calling the Voter Helpline 1950.
The district administration remains committed to conducting the Special Intensive Revision in a transparent, inclusive and efficient manner, ensuring that every eligible citizen gets an opportunity to participate in the democratic process.
