Khanna (Ludhiana), June 29:
In a bold and decisive move to protect public interest and maintain the integrity of government records, Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) of Khanna, Swati Tiwana, has taken stringent measures against the sale of properties registered through fraudulent means.
An immediate ban has been imposed on the sale and registration of land that has been transacted using forged or manually issued No Objection Certificates (NOCs).
The directive from SDM Tiwana comes in response to a completed inquiry into suspicious land registrations. The investigation report has been submitted to the Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) in Khanna for further legal action.
The SDM has made it clear that no further sale deeds or registration documents related to these disputed properties will be processed until further notice. This decision aims to preserve official records' integrity, ensure adherence to legal procedures, and protect genuine land buyers' interests.
To fortify this initiative, the Sub-Registrar in Khanna has been instructed to make necessary entries in the Jamabandis (Record of Rights) for properties where fraudulent NOCs have been identified.
These entries are crucial to prevent future fraudulent transactions and safeguard potential buyers from financial loss or legal disputes.
The administration has emphasized the urgency of halting any further transfer of ownership of disputed lands.
SDM Tiwana has assured that strict legal action will be pursued against individuals found guilty of exploiting government procedures through forged documents or illegal activities. An ongoing police investigation into the matter will guide subsequent legal proceedings.
SDM Swati Tiwana has also appealed to the public, urging prospective land buyers to exercise caution and due diligence. She advises thorough verification of all relevant documents, including NOCs and revenue records, before finalizing any land transaction.
In cases of doubt regarding a property's authenticity or its NOC, citizens are encouraged to consult the Revenue Department or administrative authorities for verification.
Reaffirming the administration's dedication to transparent and lawful governance, SDM Tiwana declared a zero-tolerance policy towards any manipulation of government records or fraudulent documentation.
She stressed that any form of fraud or tampering with official land records would be addressed firmly and strictly under the law
