Mohali (Punjab), August 4, 2026: The monsoon has once again gained momentum across Punjab, bringing heavy rainfall to several parts of the state. Mohali, Ludhiana and Patiala received heavy rain on Tuesday, while Jalandhar, Pathankot and Faridkot remained cloudy since morning.
The Meteorological Department has issued a warning for rain and thunderstorms in nine districts of Punjab.
Heavy rainfall is likely in parts of Pathankot, Gurdaspur, Hoshiarpur, Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar (Nawanshahr), Fazilka, Sri Muktsar Sahib, Bathinda, Rupnagar and Mohali.
Amid the changing weather conditions, the state’s average temperature has dropped by 1.1 degrees Celsius. However, Faridkot recorded the highest temperature in Punjab at 42.2 degrees Celsius.
Meanwhile, the water levels in the state’s major dams remain below the danger mark, providing some relief despite the renewed monsoon activity.
