Nanded Sahib (Maharashtra), August 14, 2026: Shiromani Akali Dal president Sukhbir Singh Badal has issued his first statement after being attacked at Sri Nanded Sahib, saying such incidents will not frighten him.
Badal was discharged from hospital after remaining under medical observation for around 24 hours. Speaking after his discharge, he said he was safe by the grace of Guru Sahib and quoted a Gurbani verse: “Jis Ke Sir Upar Tu Swami, So Dukh Kaisa Paavai.”
He said he had the blessings of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Maharaj and thanked the Guru for keeping him safe.
Badal said this was the second attack on him but asserted that he had neither been afraid in the past nor would he be intimidated now. He said the Shiromani Akali Dal remained committed to serving Punjab and the Panth and was prepared to make every sacrifice for the cause.
He also thanked party workers, supporters and others who prayed for his recovery following the attack.
Badal said such incidents would not weaken his resolve or morale.
