DJJS Sisters celebrate Raksha Bandhan with BSF Jawans – nation’s protectors
Ferozepur, August 28. 2026: Marking Raksha Bandhan as a celebration of love, respect and gratitude towards the nation’s protectors, Sadhvi sisters of Divya Jyoti Jagriti Sansthan, (DJJS), tied Rakhi on the wrists of BSF personnel deployed for the security of the country’s borders.
The initiative aimed to convey that the brave soldiers, who remain away from their families while performing their duties, are remembered and respected by the people of the country. The Sadhvi sisters said that BSF personnel perform their duties round the clock in extreme weather conditions, enabling citizens to celebrate festivals safely with their families.
Sadhvi Karmali Bharti Ji, Sadhvi Harjit Bharti Ji and Sadhvi Devender Bharti Ji tied Rakhis to the BSF personnel and wished them good health, long life, happiness and continued success in their service to the nation. The soldiers were also served pure sweets prepared by the Sansthan’s Divya Mishtan.
Speaking on the occasion, Sadhvi Karmali Bharti Ji said Rakhi was not merely a thread tied on the wrist but symbolised love, trust, protection and responsibility. She said BSF personnel protect millions of families while remaining away from their own, and tying Rakhi to them was a humble way of saluting their selfless service and dedication.
Sadhvi Devender Bharti Ji said the sacred thread could also represent national unity, brotherhood and mutual affection. Sisters from the Sansthan’s congregation also participated in the programme and tied Rakhis to the jawans, expressing gratitude for their courage and commitment.
The BSF personnel thanked the Sadhvi sisters and congregation for the affectionate gesture, saying such expressions of love and respect boosted their morale.
Deputy Inspector General Brigadier Vijay Singh Rana, Mayank Upadhyay, Commandant, and Firoz Alam Sheikh, Second-in-Command and Station Headquarters BSF, were present. They appreciated the religious and social initiatives of the Sansthan and expressed gratitude to the Sadhvi sisters for the gesture.
The programme conveyed a heartfelt message that those guarding the nation’s borders are an integral part of the larger national family.
