Journalist-Author Manoj Dhiman adds two Hindi fiction books, takes literary portfolio to 10
‘Raz Ki Baat’ short story collection and ‘Mahamanav’ novel explore contemporary society, technology and human relationships

Ludhiana (Punjab), September 7, 2026: City-based journalist and author Manoj Dhiman has expanded his literary portfolio with the publication of two new Hindi fiction books—‘Raz Ki Baat’, a collection of short stories, and ‘Mahamanav’, a novel. With these additions, Dhiman has now authored 10 books in Hindi.
Professor (Dr.) Sunil, Head of the Department of Hindi and Dean, Faculty of Languages, Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar, has written the preface to both books.
‘Raz Ki Baat’ brings together short stories dealing with a range of contemporary themes, including politics, corruption, human relationships and social issues. Through different characters and situations, the collection examines various facets of present-day society.
‘Mahamanav’, meanwhile, is a technology-based novel centred on the concept of humanoids. The book marks Dhiman’s second literary work exploring the relationship between technology and human life. His earlier technology-focused novel, ‘Dharti Par Laute Aabhasi Duniya Ke Avatar’, was published in 2025.
Both books have been published by New World Publication, New Delhi.
Dhiman has dedicated the two latest books to the memory of his late father, H.R. Dhiman, who was also a journalist and played an important role in nurturing his early interest in writing.
Speaking about his latest publications, Dhiman said writing for him was a continuous process of observation, reflection and exploration.
“Through my stories I try to look at contemporary society and human relationships, while my novels also allow me to explore the changing relationship between humans and technology. I am particularly happy that ‘Raz Ki Baat’ and ‘Mahamanav’ have given me an opportunity to present two different dimensions of my creative journey,” he said.
From Short Stories to Technology-Based Fiction
Dhiman’s literary journey began in 2007 with Late Night Party, a collection of short stories. The book was released in Ludhiana by former CBI Director late Joginder Singh, and its English translation was subsequently published.
His subsequent works include Barish Ki Boonden, a poetry collection published in 2009; Shunya Ki Or, a novel published in 2012; Yeh Makan Bikau Hai, a short story collection published in 2021; Khol Kar Dekho, a short story collection published in 2022; Jagte Raho, a short story collection published in 2024; Birju Nai Ki Dukan, a novel published in 2024; and Dharti Par Laute Aabhasi Duniya Ke Avatar, a technology-based novel published in 2025.
With Raz Ki Baat and Mahamanav, Dhiman has now published 10 Hindi books across fiction, poetry and technology-oriented literature.
His association with academic literary circles has also continued alongside his writing. Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar, included him on its Board of Studies (PG) in Hindi for the period from July 1, 2024, to June 30, 2026.
In 2026, an analytical study of Dhiman’s short story collection Jagte Raho was also undertaken at Guru Nanak Dev University in the form of a short research dissertation.
The publication of the two new books marks another step in Dhiman’s literary journey, which has increasingly combined observations of contemporary society with questions surrounding technology and its growing influence on human life.
