Breaking: Relief for Laljit Bhullar as CBI plea withdrawn in Randhawa case

Chandigarh, September 14, 2026: The Punjab and Haryana High Court on Monday witnessed a significant development in the suicide case of Punjab Warehousing Corporation (PSWC) District Manager Gagandeep Singh Randhawa, with Randhawa’s wife withdrawing her petition seeking a CBI probe against former Punjab minister Laljit Singh Bhullar.
The withdrawal of the petition comes as a relief to Bhullar, who had been named in the plea seeking a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) inquiry into the circumstances surrounding Randhawa’s death.
The High Court has also reserved its verdict on the bail pleas of Sukhdev Bhullar and Dilbagh Singh in connection with the case. The developments took place during the hearing of petitions related to the death of Randhawa, a district manager with the Punjab Warehousing Corporation.
With the petition seeking a CBI probe against Laljit Singh Bhullar now withdrawn, the court will no longer be required to adjudicate that particular prayer.
The case has attracted attention following allegations surrounding the circumstances that preceded Randhawa’s suicide. Further proceedings in the matter will depend on the court’s decision on the pending bail pleas.
The High Court’s verdict on the bail applications of Sukhdev Bhullar and Dilbagh Singh is awaited.
