Third phase of Miri-Piri Khalsa march to begin from Sri Anandpur Sahib on Sept 17
March to pass through Doaba and Majha before culminating at Sri Akal Takht Sahib; Sikh youth urged to participate

Amritsar (Punjab), September 14, 2026: The third phase of the Miri-Piri Khalsa March, initiated by the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) under the patronage of Sri Akal Takht Sahib, will begin on September 17 from Takht Sri Kesgarh Sahib, Sri Anandpur Sahib, and proceed towards Sri Akal Takht Sahib in Sri Amritsar.
The march will pass through various villages, towns and cities in the Doaba and Majha regions before culminating at Sri Akal Takht Sahib. The SGPC said the march will be conducted in accordance with Panthic traditions and in the spirit of the Khalsa.
The first two phases of the march were held from July 24 to September 4, covering nearly 650 villages across the Majha, Malwa and Puadh regions of Punjab.
During these phases, the march conveyed messages to the Sikh sangat on connecting with Gurbani, taking Amrit, maintaining Sikh identity, shunning drugs and intoxicants, earning an honest livelihood, protecting ancestral land in Punjab, learning Gurmukhi Punjabi and remaining vigilant against anti-Panthic forces.
Acting Jathedar of Sri Akal Takht Sahib and Jathedar of Takht Sri Kesgarh Sahib Giani Kuldip Singh Gargajj said the march had received an encouraging response during its first two phases, particularly from youth and children.
He said the participation of young people showed their desire to connect with the teachings and ideals of the Sikh Gurus.
Giani Kuldip Singh Gargajj said the need of the hour was to connect Punjab's youth with Sikhi and protect them from drugs. He said the spirit of Sikhi remained strong among the youth of Punjab and expressed hope that it would continue in the future.
He said the SGPC had completed arrangements for the third phase and appealed to the Sikh sangat, particularly the youth, to participate in large numbers, understand the message of Sikhi and lead their lives according to Gurmat.
Prominent personalities of the Khalsa Panth are also expected to participate in the commencement of the third phase, according to the SGPC.
