“Mehta Di Pukaar, Milawat Nu Inkaar” Campaign Launched
-First Milk Purity Testing Camp Held in Tejbagh Colony; 58 Samples Tested

Patiala, September 18, 2026: With the objective of creating awareness among the residents of Patiala about the quality of milk being used in their homes, the “Mehta Di Pukaar, Milawat Nu Inkaar” campaign initiated by District Planning Committee Chairman Tejinder Mehta was launched today at his camp office in Tejbagh Colony. On this occasion, the first “Milk Purity Testing Camp” was organised, where residents of the area brought samples of the milk being used in their homes for free testing.
At the launch of the campaign, Cabinet Minister for Animal Husbandry and Dairy Development Gurmeet Singh Khuddian, Director of the Department Dr. Variam Singh and Joint Director Dr. Parmpal Singh joined the camp through video conferencing. They appreciated the efforts being undertaken by Chairman Tejinder Mehta in the public interest and said that the department would continue to extend its support.
On the occasion, Chairman Tejinder Mehta said that milk is an important part of the daily diet of every family and that knowing about its quality is the right of every consumer. He said that the objective of the “Mehta Di Pukaar, Milawat Nu Inkaar” campaign is not to target any individual, dairy or milk seller, but to provide people with information about the quality of the milk being used in their homes and to create awareness among them. He said that the fact that people themselves brought samples for testing reflects their interest in the campaign.
Mehta said that individuals who wish to organise a “Milk Purity Testing Camp” in their locality can contact Team Tejinder Mehta. Based on public demand, arrangements will be made to organise such camps in coordination with the Dairy Development Department.
Deputy Director, Dairy Development Department, Dr. Dalbir Kumar said that a total of 58 milk samples were tested during the camp. He said that none of the samples tested was found to contain chemical adulteration; however, a large number of samples were found to contain excess water. He said that the consumers have been provided with reports regarding the adulteration findings and, if they wish, they can file a complaint with the Health Department.
At the launch of the campaign, Dr. Rohtash Mittal, Inspector Lakhmir Singh, Inspector Kulwinder Singh, Harkirat Singh, District Laboratory Association President Mohit Gupta, Aam Aadmi Party District Social Media In-charge Sumit Takeja, Bahawalpur Virasat Manch Convener SK Taneja, social workers Rajiv Kumar Rao, Vinod Goyal, Sanjay Kapoor, Gurnam Singh Fauji, Aam Aadmi Party senior leader Bhupinder Singh Waraich, youth leader Surinder Nikku, Gaurav Chhabra, Rahul Sethi, Gagan Pandhi, Atul Goyal, Parminder Singh from Verka Patiala, Gursharan Singh and other prominent residents of the area were present.
