Harmeet Singh Kalka inaugurates 11th Delhi State Gatka Championship in New Delhi

New Delhi, September 19, 2026: Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC) President Harmeet Singh Kalka on Saturday inaugurated the two-day 11th Delhi State Gatka Championship organised by the Delhi Gatka Association at Bharti Public School in New Delhi.
Addressing the participants and organisers, Kalka praised the skill, discipline and sporting spirit displayed by the Gatka players. He described Gatka as an integral part of Sikh heritage, saying it represents courage, self-discipline and the martial tradition of the Sikh community.
Kalka said such championships play an important role in connecting the younger generation with Sikh heritage while also helping participants develop confidence, sportsmanship and discipline.
He expressed gratitude to DSGMC member Sukhwinder Singh Babbar and Zorawar Singh for their contribution towards organising the championship and appreciated their efforts in making the event possible.
Kalka also thanked the Delhi Gatka Association for its hospitality and conveyed his best wishes to all the players participating in the two-day championship.
The event brings together Gatka players from across Delhi for competitions being held under the aegis of the Delhi Gatka Association.
