Breaking: Sukhbir Badal targets Manpreet Ayali, says ‘We have evidence, will order probe’

Chandigarh, September 27, 2026: Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) president Sukhbir Singh Badal has launched a fresh attack on Akali Dal (Waris Punjab De) leader and Dakha MLA Manpreet Singh Ayali, alleging irregularities in matters related to his properties and business interests.
Addressing a gathering at the Chhapar Mela in Ludhiana district, Badal claimed that he had evidence of alleged irregularities and other wrongdoing involving Ayali. He said the SAD would initiate proceedings and order an investigation into the allegations if it returned to power.
Badal alleged that Ayali had illegally increased the built-up area of the Avanta Greens colony and had attempted to regularise it retrospectively. He also alleged that Ayali had managed to get his land excluded from the land pooling scheme.
The SAD president said the allegations would be examined through an investigation and that legal action would follow if wrongdoing was established. He asserted that those responsible for actions detrimental to Punjab would have to face the law.
Badal also accused Ayali of having an understanding with Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann to protect his business and political interests.
Ayali has emerged as a prominent leader of Waris Punjab De after leaving the SAD, with the rivalry between the two Akali factions intensifying ahead of the 2027 Punjab Assembly elections.
