New Delhi, October 10, 2026: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convenor Arvind Kejriwal has criticised the reported arrest of Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) members, describing the situation as “worse than the Emergency” and accusing the Narendra Modi government of undermining democracy.
In a post on X, Kejriwal alleged that detaining CJP members immediately after they arrived by flight reflected the government’s fear of dissent.
He accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of protecting what he called electoral fraud and repeated allegations of “vote chori” (vote theft), without providing evidence in the post.
Calling for Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar to step down, Kejriwal also demanded Modi’s removal, alleging that democratic institutions were being weakened.
The remarks came amid protests and political allegations surrounding the conduct of elections and the actions taken against CJP members. The allegations made by Kejriwal have not been independently established.
