Mansa (Punjab), October 19, 2026: Max Super Speciality Hospital, Shalimar Bagh, has launched a special neurosurgery outpatient department (OPD) service in Budhlada, Mansa district, to bring specialist consultations closer to patients in the region.
The OPD service has been launched at Shri Panchayati Gaushala Committee (Regd.), near Shri Shiv Shakti Bhawan, Budhlada, Punjab. Dr Monik Garg, Senior Consultant in the Department of Neurosurgery at Max Super Speciality Hospital, Shalimar Bagh, will attend the clinic on the third Sunday of every month from 10 am to 1 pm.
Patients will be able to consult the specialist for initial assessments and follow-up visits.
Dr Garg said the hospital aimed to provide precise, safe and personalised treatment through advanced neurosurgical techniques, including image-guided brain surgery, complex brain tumour treatment, functional neurosurgery such as deep brain stimulation (DBS) for Parkinson’s disease, neuro-navigation, neurophysiological monitoring and minimally invasive surgery.
He said the focus was on using modern surgical techniques to improve patient safety and support faster recovery. The initiative would help patients with neurological conditions access specialist consultations and treatment in a timely manner.
Dr Garg added that many neurological conditions could be treated effectively if diagnosed early and managed by experienced specialists.
“By starting OPD services in Mansa, our aim is to bring specialist neurosurgical consultations closer to patients, enabling them to access timely advice, accurate diagnosis and treatment plans suited to their needs near their homes,” he said.
Patients requiring advanced surgery or specialised treatment may be referred to Max Super Speciality Hospital, Shalimar Bagh, for further care.
