Badal, Lambi 22 October
Women volunteers of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) staged a protest outside Harsimrat Kaur Badal’s residence in Lambi, condemning alleged derogatory language used against women by Shiromani Akali Dal leader Sikandar Singh Maluka.
Carrying placards and raising slogans, the protesters expressed anger over the remarks, describing them as offensive and unacceptable.
The demonstration was led by Baljinder Kaur Tungwali and Rupinder Kaur, Vice-Chairperson of the Punjab State Commission for Women.
The protesters said Maluka’s alleged remarks reflected a deeply troubling attitude towards women within the Shiromani Akali Dal. They also questioned how a party that identifies itself as a *Panthic* organisation could tolerate such language.
According to the demonstrators, derogatory comments against women undermine their dignity and cannot be accepted under any circumstances.
