Over 10K residents benefit from 324 Free Yoga Classes across Ferozepur Distt
Ferozepur, January 9, 2026: The Punjab Government’s flagship "CM di Yogshala" project is proving to be a cornerstone for healthy living in the district, with over 10,000 residents now participating in daily yoga sessions. Since its expansion to all cities in October 2023, the initiative has grown to include 324 active yoga classes across Ferozepur, helping citizens achieve physical and mental well-being through professional guidance.
District Coordinator Amanpreet Kaur shared that the project is playing a pivotal role in the creation of a "Healthy Punjab." Currently, classes are being held in both urban and rural areas of Ferozepur, Guru Har Sahai, Zira, and Makhu. These sessions are entirely free of cost and are led by expert yoga trainers appointed by the Punjab Government. Ms. Kaur appealed to the residents to take full advantage of these facilities to improve their lifestyle.
To ensure widespread reach, the government has deployed 94 expert yoga trainers across the district's tehsils, blocks, and villages. These trainers conduct sessions in both mornings and evenings, focusing not only on yoga asanas but also on educating participants about balanced diets and healthy lifestyle choices. The program is inclusive, welcoming children, youth, women, and senior citizens alike.
The coordinator further informed that citizens can easily start a new yoga class in their own neighborhood. By forming a group of 25 members, residents can request a free trainer by giving a missed call to 76694-00500 or calling 78888-40115. Additionally, registration for these free classes can be completed online at the official portal: https://cmdiyogshala.punjab.gov.in.
