Breaking: Woman dies after Activa crashes, son critically injured

Hoshiarpur (Punjab), September 27, 2026: A woman was killed and her son seriously injured in a road accident on the Mahilpur-Garhshankar road near Tutomajara village in Hoshiarpur district late Saturday night.
According to preliminary information, the woman, identified as Jaswinder Kaur, wife of Gurcharanpreet, was returning from her parental home with her son Jaskaran Singh on a scooter when the accident occurred.
A person reportedly came onto the road suddenly in front of their Activa near Tutomajara, following which the scooter lost balance and fell on the road. Both riders sustained serious injuries and were taken to Civil Hospital, Mahilpur.
Doctors declared Jaswinder Kaur dead on arrival, while Jaskaran Singh remains under treatment at the hospital.
Police from Mahilpur station reached the spot after being informed about the accident. The woman’s body was sent to Garhshankar for post-mortem examination, and further legal proceedings are underway.
