Chandigarh, June 15, 2026: Punjab Congress president Amarinder Singh Raja Warring today demanded resignation of the Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann following his ex-communication by the Akal Takht on the basis of two controversial videos which, Akal Takht said, were found to be authentic and not AI generated.
Warring said that Chief Minister Mann must also break his silence on the matter. “People of Punjab are waiting for your answers over such serious charges”, he told the Chief Minister.
“For every Sikh living across the globe, Shri Akal Takht is the Supreme Temporal authority. Its decisions are binding on everyone. As Shri Akal Takht Acting Jathedar Sahib, Giani Kuldeep Singh Gargaj has declared two controversial videos related to Chief Minister Mann as authentic, after having been verified by two separate forensic laboratories, as a mark of respect for the temporal authority of Shri Akal Takhat, and respecting the sensitivities involved, he must resign immediately”, he said.
“The issue is quite sensitive. When the Chief Minister can enact a stringent law against sacrilege, he must set an example that he practices what he preaches. Caesar’s wife must be above suspicion”, he added.
