New Delhi, June 3, 2026: An Indian national lost his life in an attack on Kuwait International Airport on Wednesday, the Indian Embassy in Kuwait confirmed in a statement posted on X.
The embassy expressed deep condolences and said it is closely coordinating with the Kuwaiti authorities to extend all possible support to the bereaved family and those injured.
According to Kuwait’s health ministry, at least 63 people were injured in the incident. Health ministry spokesperson Abdullah al-Sanad said that the injured were shifted to hospitals across the country with varying degrees of severity, including critical cases involving head injuries, cerebral haemorrhages, amputations, and blast-related trauma.
He added that 25 ambulances were deployed to the airport to handle the emergency response.
The attack reportedly targeted Terminal One of the airport, causing significant damage and forcing authorities to temporarily suspend air traffic operations, according to the Directorate General of Civil Aviation.
Iran’s Revolutionary Guards later claimed responsibility for the attack, stating it was carried out in retaliation for earlier US strikes on an Iranian oil tanker and an island, further escalating regional tensions.
The Indian Embassy reiterated that it is in continuous contact with local authorities and is providing all necessary assistance to affected Indian nationals and their families.
