Former Chief Justice Ritu Bahri appointed Patron-in-Chief of Council of Lawyers

Chandigarh, April 27, 2025: Justice Ritu Bahri, Former Chief Justice of the Uttarakhand High Court and Former Acting Chief Justice of the Punjab and Haryana High Court, was appointed as the Patron-in-Chief of the organization.
To celebrate this prestigious appointment, the Council of Lawyers will soon organize a special ceremony at the Punjab and Haryana High Court.The event will feature a meaningful discussion focused on delivering justice to the underprivileged, with active participation from several senior advocates.
On this occasion, Advocate Vasu Ranjan Shandilya, Chairman of the Council of Lawyers, and Advocate Eashan Bhardwaj, President, expressed their heartfelt gratitude to Justice Bahri for accepting the role and guiding the Council’s future initiatives.
During the meeting, Council members engaged in detailed discussions on strengthening legal aid efforts for marginalized communities.Justice Bahri’s association was hailed as a major boost to the Council’s mission to make justice accessible to all.

Justice Bahri warmly appreciated the initiative, praising the Council’s efforts to take legal services to the grassroots level. In her address, Justice Bahri emphasized her commitment to ensuring access to justice for the poor and underprivileged.
She held insightful discussions with young members of the Council, sharing her experiences from her tenure as Chief Justice and offering valuable ideas and suggestions to further the Council’s mission.
Highlighting the critical role of the next generation, Justice Bahri remarked,
"Young lawyers are the true agents of societal change. It is through their spirit of service that justice can truly reach every corner of the nation."
