Punjab Governor pays floral tribute to martyrs at Hussainiwala Shaheedi Memorial, also visits War Memorial
Ferozepur, February 10, 2026: Punjab Governor Gulab Chand Kataria visited the historic Hussainiwala Shaheedi Memorial in Ferozepur and paid rich tributes to the martyrs who laid down their lives for the country’s freedom. The Governor offered floral tributes at the samadhis of Shaheed-e-Azam Sardar Bhagat Singh, Shaheed Rajguru, Shaheed Sukhdev and B.K. Dutt, recalling their supreme sacrifices for the nation.

During the visit, the Governor also paid homage at the War Memorial, where he laid wreaths in honour of the country’s brave soldiers. Addressing the gathering, Governor Kataria said that the sacrifices of the martyrs continue to inspire generations and it is the duty of every citizen to safeguard the unity, integrity and sovereignty of the nation.
At the conclusion of his visit, the Punjab Governor witnessed the Retreat Ceremony organised at the India-Pakistan border. He appreciated the impressive display by the security forces and saluted their invaluable contribution towards safeguarding the nation.
On the occasion, Punjab Governor’s Secretary Vivek Pratap Singh, Director Census Operations Lalit Jain, Red Cross Secretary Shiv Dular Singh Dhillon, Deputy Commissioner Deep Sikha Sharma, SSP Bhupinder, senior army officers and other officials were also present.
