CCT, CGC Landran organizes training programme on Warehousing and Sustainable Agriculture

Chandigarh, June 10, 2026: The Department of Biotechnology, CCT, CGC Landran, in collaboration with Chaudhary Charan Singh National Institute of Agricultural Marketing (CCS NIAM), Jaipur, organized a day-long Awareness and training programme on Warehousing Development and Regulation, sponsored by the Warehousing Development and Regulatory Authority (WDRA), Government of India.
The programme brought together 53 farmers from Mohali to engage in discussions on scientific warehousing, post-harvest management, sustainable agriculture and value addition in farming.
Dr. Gurpreet Kaur, Head of Department, Biotechnology, CCT, CGC Landran, welcomed the participants and emphasized the importance of farmer-oriented training programmes in encouraging agricultural innovation and rural development.
Guest of Honour Dr. Rahul Sankhla, Consultant, CCS NIAM Jaipur, conducted the keynote technical session on Warehousing Development and Regulation. His session highlighted the role of scientific warehousing in reducing post-harvest losses, WDRA accreditation, warehouse receipt financing and improved storage and marketing opportunities for farmers.
Mr. Dharmender from Kudrat Farms led a session on Organic Farming, sharing practical insights into organic cultivation practices, soil fertility enhancement, natural farming inputs, and sustainable crop production methods. CGC alumna Ms. Deepanshi, Founder of Mycomazing, conducted a session on Agricultural Waste Management, focusing on converting agricultural residues into value-added products and exploring environmentally sustainable methods of farm waste management.
Sharing her views on the initiative, Dr. Palki Sahib Kaur, Director-Principal, CCT, CGC Landran said, "Our vision is to empower farmers with knowledge and innovation. By connecting them with experts, researchers and entrepreneurs, we aim to strengthen rural communities and promote sustainable agricultural practices that will benefit generations to come."
Such initiatives underscore CGC Landran’s commitment to fostering innovation, sustainability and rural development by bringing farmers, industry practitioners, educators, researchers and young innovators into the same conversation, she added.
