As part of the Punjab Government’s flagship cleanliness drive, “Mission Clean Punjab, Proud Punjab,” Municipal Corporation Commissioner Lovjeet Kalsi conducted an early morning field inspection at 6 a.m. on Wednesday to review sanitation arrangements, waste management, and civic amenities across various parts of Bathinda city.
During the inspection, the Commissioner interacted with local residents, listened to their grievances, and ensured on-the-spot resolution of several issues.
Speaking on the occasion, Commissioner Lovjeet Kalsi said that the Municipal Corporation Bathinda is carrying out a special cleanliness campaign in accordance with the directions issued by the Punjab Government, the Minister for Local Government, and the Principal Secretary, Local Government Department.
The initiative is aimed at making Punjab cleaner, greener, and more aesthetically appealing under the vision of the Chief Minister of Punjab.
He emphasized that senior Municipal Corporation officials will undertake daily field visits to ensure the city remains clean and well-maintained and that public grievances are addressed promptly. The move is intended to provide residents with efficient civic services and prevent inconvenience.
The Commissioner further informed that to strengthen sanitation services and improve public convenience, supervising engineers, municipal engineers, and sanitation officials have been assigned daily duties across the city’s eight zones.
These officials have been directed to ensure the attendance of field staff and give priority to cleanliness drives, waste disposal, repair of civic infrastructure, and maintenance of streetlights.
Kalsi also instructed officials to actively engage with citizens, listen to their complaints, and ensure their timely resolution.
Appealing to residents, the Commissioner urged citizens to cooperate with the Municipal Corporation in keeping the city clean and beautiful and to refrain from littering at public places.
