Sultanpur Lodhi, June 25, 2026:
Jasjit Singh, PCS, Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Sultanpur Lodhi-cum-Electoral Registration Officer (ERO), Sultanpur Lodhi Assembly Constituency, has informed that the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the electoral roll is being carried out across the constituency to ensure that the voter list remains accurate, comprehensive, and up to date.
Providing details about the ongoing exercise, Jasjit Singh stated that the distribution of pre-filled Enumeration Forms has commenced from June 25, 2026. The work is being undertaken on a war footing through the Booth Level Officers (BLOs), who have started visiting households across villages and urban areas of the constituency to distribute the forms and facilitate the revision process.
The ERO informed that a well-structured field machinery has been put in place for the successful implementation of this important electoral exercise. A total of 195 Booth Level Officers (BLOs) and 16 Supervisors have been deployed in Sultanpur Lodhi Assembly Constituency to ensure timely completion of the revision work and provide assistance to citizens wherever required.
Emphasizing the significance of the Special Intensive Revision, Jasjit Singh said that the Election Commission's objective is to maintain a clean, transparent, and error-free electoral roll. He reassured residents that no eligible voter would be deprived of his or her voting rights during the revision process. The exercise is aimed solely at verifying and updating voter details so that the electoral roll accurately reflects all eligible electors residing in the constituency.
He further clarified that genuine voters need not have any apprehension regarding the revision exercise. Adequate safeguards have been put in place to ensure that no eligible voter’s name is deleted arbitrarily and that no citizen is subjected to unnecessary inconvenience or harassment. The focus of the exercise is on strengthening the integrity of the electoral roll and ensuring maximum inclusion of eligible voters.
Appealing for active public participation, Jasjit Singh urged residents to extend full cooperation to the BLOs when they visit their homes or localities. Citizens are requested to carefully verify the details mentioned in the pre-filled Enumeration Forms, provide accurate information, and produce the necessary supporting documents wherever required. He added that the BLOs have been instructed to assist voters in filling up the forms and to guide them regarding the documentation process.
The ERO emphasized that receiving the Enumeration Form, filling it correctly, and returning the duly completed and signed form to the BLO within the stipulated timeframe is a crucial responsibility of every voter. Timely submission of the forms will facilitate smooth completion of the revision exercise and help election authorities adhere to the prescribed schedule.
Jasjit Singh also appealed to political parties, community leaders, resident welfare associations, and civil society organizations to create awareness among the public about the importance of the Special Intensive Revision and encourage maximum participation. He stated that collective cooperation from all stakeholders will contribute significantly towards ensuring an accurate, inclusive, and transparent electoral roll.
Reiterating the commitment of the election machinery to safeguard the voting rights of every eligible citizen, the ERO urged all residents of Sultanpur Lodhi Assembly Constituency to actively participate in the revision process and support the efforts being undertaken to strengthen the democratic framework of the country through a robust and updated electoral roll.
