New Delhi, July 22, 2026: Rajya Sabha MP Dr. Ashok Kumar Mittal has renewed his demand for the creation of a National Commission for Men following a shocking murder case in Uttar Pradesh's Meerut, where a man was allegedly killed by his wife and her partner using a venomous snake to make the death appear accidental and claim a ₹20 lakh insurance payout.
Reacting to the incident, Mittal described the case as deeply disturbing and said it raises broader concerns about the lack of institutional support for male victims.
"Beyond the horror of the crime lies a larger question: when men become victims, where is the dedicated institutional forum to hear, study, and address their concerns?" he said in a post on X.
Mittal asserted that the need for a National Commission for Men has "never been more pressing" and tagged the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC), the Ministry of Home Affairs, and several news agencies while urging attention to the issue.
