Punjab opens online applications for new ration cards, member addition
Eligible beneficiaries can apply through Seva Kendras, CSCs, ERCMS portal or District Food Supply Offices

Ferozepur, July 22, 2026: The Punjab Government has invited online applications for the issuance of new ration cards and the inclusion of eligible members in existing ration cards under the National Food Security Act (NFSA), 2013 and the Smart Ration Card Scheme. The application window will remain open from July 22 to August 11, 2026.
The initiative, announced in line with the Chief Minister's decision, aims to ensure that eligible families receive ration card benefits through a transparent, fair and technology-driven process.
District Controller, Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, Daljit Singh Sandhu, said application forms in both Punjabi and English can be downloaded from the department's website. Applicants have been advised to carefully read the instructions and submit complete applications along with all required documents.
Applications can be submitted online through Seva Kendras, Common Service Centres (CSCs), or directly through the ERCMS portal. While applications submitted through Seva Kendras or CSCs will require a processing fee of ₹100 per form, those applying directly through the ERCMS portal will not be charged any fee. Applicants may also submit their forms along with supporting documents and a processing fee of ₹100 at the office of the District Controller, Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs.
After successful online submission, applicants will receive an acknowledgement message along with a receipt number on their registered mobile number. Applications will be accepted only between July 22 and August 11, 2026. Seva Kendras, CSCs and district offices will accept applications on all working days from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
The District Controller appealed to all eligible beneficiaries to submit their applications within the stipulated period. For further information, applicants may contact their respective District Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Office or the nearest Seva Kendra/CSC.
