Chandigarh, July 27, 2026:In a significant political move ahead of the Punjab Assembly elections, senior Waris Punjab De leader and Mullanpur Dakha MLA Manpreet Singh Ayali has expressed his willingness to step aside and urged Bibi Paramjit Kaur Khalra to contest the upcoming elections from the Dakha Assembly constituency.
Addressing party workers and supporters, Ayali said it was his heartfelt desire that Bibi Paramjit Kaur Khalra be fielded from Dakha. He described it as a matter of "great pride and honour" if she chose to contest from the constituency.
Ayali said Bibi Khalra only needed to file her nomination papers, while the responsibility of ensuring her victory would rest with the Sangat and party workers of Dakha. He expressed confidence that the people of the constituency would wholeheartedly support her candidature.
"The Sangat of my constituency has never dishonoured the Panth and will remove this stain as well," Ayali said, asserting that the people of Dakha would work tirelessly to secure her victory.
Clarifying his position within Akali Dal (Waris Punjab De), Ayali said he had joined the party without imposing any conditions regarding an election ticket or organisational post. He maintained that safeguarding Panthic interests and the welfare of Punjab remained his foremost priorities.
Calling for greater unity among Panthic forces, Ayali urged all Panthic parties and leaders to rise above personal ambitions and come together on issues concerning the Panth and Punjab.
He reiterated that he has consistently worked towards Panthic unity and would continue his efforts to bring like-minded leaders together in the larger interest of the Sikh community and Punjab.
