PSPCL CMD holds first meeting with 37 Employee Organisations, assures dialogue on demands

Patiala (Punjab), September 23, 2026: Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL) Chairman-cum-Managing Director (CMD) Gurkirat Kirpal Singh, IAS, on Wednesday held his first meeting with representatives of around 37 employee organisations since taking charge, with discussions focusing on employees’ demands, pending issues and promotions.
The meeting was held at the PSPCL headquarters in Patiala in the presence of directors and senior officers of the corporation.
Representatives of the employee organisations raised various demands and problems before the CMD, with early resolution of promotion-related issues among the key concerns.
Singh said differences between employee organisations and management were natural but emphasised that issues should preferably be resolved through dialogue and mutual discussion before they lead to protests or agitations.
He assured the representatives that PSPCL would make efforts to resolve at the corporation level all demands that could be addressed internally at the earliest. Issues requiring a decision at the government level would be taken up with the state government, he said.
The CMD also directed concerned officers to take necessary steps for early resolution of promotion-related demands and other pending matters.
Representatives of the employee organisations assured PSPCL management of their cooperation and welcomed the continuation of dialogue as a means of resolving employees’ concerns.
