Panchkula, August 24, 2017: In compliance with Punjab and Haryana High Court directions, the police have started removing the Sirsa Dera followers camping here in the internal sectors ahead of court verdict in case related to their spiritual head Gurmit Ram Rahim.
Haryana DGP said that citing the HC directions, the police would ask the Dera followers to leave the place.
The DGP, however, clarified there was no immediate move to impose curfew in Panchkula.
The HC had rapped the state government for its failure to stop assembly of such a large number of followers despite imposition of the prohibitory orders.
The HC asked the police to remove the followers from gathering here and apprise it about the action taken.
The hearing on the matter will resume in the HC at 11.30 am on August 25.
