Ludhiana (Punjab), December 6, 2024: Every year, farmers burn Parali (crop stubble), which contributes significantly to air pollution and environmental degradation. But Trident Group India has turned this challenge into an opportunity.
By embracing the circular economy, the leading textile group is helping several farmers in Punjab to recycle the stubble into a valuable resource.
Trident Group has pioneered a solution by procuring and recycling Parali. This not only addresses the issue of stubble burning but also contributes to a sustainable and circular economy.
Since launching project in 2021, Trident India has empowered 707 farmers across 6,400+ acres of land. They have steadily grown, with 246 farmers actively participating in 2024, covering 2,159.25 acres—our largest area to date.
"Our project spans six villages in Punjab—Dhaula, Fatehgarh Channa, Handiya, Bhaini Jassa, Sanghera, and Kahneke where local farmers have helped us effectively manage Parali. By doing so, we’re not just helping farmers adopt sustainable agricultural practices but also reducing environmental harm and supporting a cleaner, greener future," shared Trident India on its LinkedIn account.
"In line with the government's Aatmanirbhar Bharat vision, our initiative is creating new avenues of income for farmers while promoting sustainable practices. As we expand our reach and increase our efforts, we are building a positive impact on both the environment and the agricultural community," it further added.
