Industrial Milestone: First Consignment of Rebars Flagged Off from Tata Steel’s Green Plant in Ludhiana

In a major boost to Punjab’s industrial landscape, the first dispatch of rebars from Tata Steel Limited’s (TSL) newly inaugurated Green Steel Plant in Ludhiana was formally flagged off this Friday. The event marks the official operational commencement of the facility, coming on the heels of its high-profile inauguration by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann.
The first consignment was flagged off by Aashish Anupam, Vice-President of TSL. Highlighting the integration of local industry into the global supply chain, the load was carried by a trailer from New Kuldip Goods Carriers, a prominent Ludhiana-based logistics firm already partnered with major national steel giants.

Speaking at the event, Sarabjit Singh, CEO of New Kuldip Goods Carriers, expressed immense pride in being selected for the maiden dispatch. "This venture by Tata Steel is a game-changer for Ludhiana. It will not only accelerate economic activity but also create substantial employment opportunities for the local youth," he said.
Majorjit Singh, Owner of New Kuldip Goods Carriers, lauded the rapid completion of the green project. He credited the Punjab Government’s proactive support under CM Bhagwant Mann for ensuring the project was realized in record time, reinforcing Punjab’s image as an investor-friendly destination.

He also thanked Mr Sanjeev Arora, Minister for Industries, Local Bodies and Power, who played a crucial role in facilitating the project, particularly in the final stages by ensuring timely completion of key formalities and providing necessary government support.
