No-Bag Day at VWS: Blending skills, sports & communication for all-round student growth
Ferozepur, April 4, 2026: Keeping in mind the holistic development of students, Vivekananda World School, Ferozepur successfully organized a special “No-Bag Day” on Saturday. This initiative was carried out under the school’s “Beyond Books – Building Skills” vision, aiming to move students beyond traditional academics and connect them with essential life skills. The school’s Director, Dr. S. N. Rudra, stated that the institution is continuously striving for the overall development of students, and this program is an important step in that direction.
On this occasion, students enthusiastically participated in various sports activities such as skating, shooting, martial arts, fencing, chess, basketball, volleyball, and cricket. Along with this, they also showcased their talents in creative activities like music (vocal and instrumental), art & craft, and dance. Activities conducted by different school clubs—Mathlete, Academic Decathlon, English Weavers, Green Warriors, Heritage, and Nurture Health—further strengthened students’ logical thinking, communication skills, environmental awareness, and health understanding.
The main highlight of the program was a special seminar on “Communication Skills” for students of classes 9 to 12, conducted by the school Chairman, Dr. Gaurav Sagar Bhaskar. He explained in a simple and effective manner that expressing one’s thoughts correctly is essential for success in life. He emphasized that good marks alone are not enough; presenting ideas with clarity, confidence, and impact is equally important.
Dr. Bhaskar elaborated on the importance of body posture, maintaining eye contact, and using clear and simple language. He also highlighted that speaking without hesitation and listening attentively are key elements of effective communication. Through examples, he explained that strong communication skills help students achieve success not only in school but also in competitions, interviews, and future careers.
Students participated with great enthusiasm during the seminar. Many students came on stage to share their thoughts, which boosted their confidence and provided them with practical experience. The entire “No-Bag Day” turned out to be a memorable experience filled with learning, enjoyment, and inspiration for the students.
The school management stated that such programs will continue to be organized in the future to ensure the holistic development of students and help them achieve new heights in life.
