New Delhi, October 23, 2026: Permission for Punjabi singer Diljit Dosanjh’s scheduled October 30 concert at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Delhi has been reconsidered and granted, Delhi Police officials told ANI.
According to the officials, multiple meetings were held with the event organisers, who presented detailed plans to address security concerns. Following these discussions and a review of the arrangements, permission for the concert was granted.
The development comes after reports that Delhi Police had initially denied permission for the show, part of Dosanjh’s Aura India Tour, citing security concerns.
A letter reportedly issued by the office of the Deputy Commissioner of Police, South Delhi, and addressed to ticketing platform BookMyShow had cited threat-related inputs, security requirements during the festive season and other law-and-order concerns as reasons for withholding approval.
The reconsideration of the decision is expected to bring relief to fans who were looking forward to watching the Punjabi singer perform live in the national capital.
Dosanjh has performed at several prominent international venues, including Madison Square Garden in New York and Wembley Stadium in London. He also became the first Punjabi artiste to headline and sell out Wembley Stadium.
Further details regarding the final security arrangements for the Delhi concert were not immediately available.
