Mohali (Punjab), May 17, 2026: In a major and sensitive development, the Mataur Police Station in Mohali has registered a case under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and Section 6 of the POCSO Act against Jaskaranjit Singh Deol in connection with grave allegations involving a 14-and-a-half-year-old minor girl.
According to the FIR, the victim’s father has alleged that the accused initially misused the family’s trust and gradually became involved with the household in a manner that later led to serious criminal allegations. The complainant stated in his statement that the accused had earlier developed illicit relations with his wife, which, as per the allegation, disrupted the family structure.
The FIR further alleges that in October 2024, the accused allegedly lured the victim under false pretences and took her to a hotel instead of safely returning her home after she was brought back from a school hostel. It is alleged that the accused attempted to sexually assault the minor and engaged in inappropriate conduct with her.
When the girl resisted, the complainant has alleged that she was forcibly confined, physically assaulted, and threatened. It is further claimed that the accused intimidated her by threatening that her father would be killed by gangsters if she disclosed the incident to anyone.
The victim reportedly managed to reach her father on May 9, 2026, after enduring continued fear and alleged harassment, and narrated the entire incident. Following this, the father approached the Mohali Police, leading to the immediate registration of the FIR and swift initiation of legal action.
Police officials confirmed that a case has been registered under relevant provisions of the BNS and the POCSO Act, and further investigation is currently underway.
Shiromani Akali Dal has not yet issued any official statement regarding the allegations.
