Gurugram, June 3, 2026: The Special PMLA Court in Gurugram on Tuesday adjourned the hearing on the bail application of former Punjab Minister and senior Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Sanjeev Arora till June 8, following extensive arguments by both the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and the defence.
During the proceedings, detailed submissions were made by Sanjeev Arora's legal team as well as counsels representing the Enforcement Directorate and the prosecution. The ED strongly opposed the bail application, while the defence sought relief for Arora, presenting arguments in support of his release on bail.
The hearing witnessed prolonged exchanges between both sides, with the court hearing their submissions at length before reserving further consideration of the matter.
After the conclusion of arguments, the Special Court adjourned the case to June 8, 2026, for further proceedings.
Legal observers expect that the court may pronounce its order on the bail plea on the next date of hearing after considering the submissions made by both parties.
The case is being heard under the provisions of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) and has attracted considerable political attention in Punjab due to Arora's stature within the ruling Aam Aadmi Party. Arora was arrested by ED on May 09, 2026 from his official residence in Chandigarh.
