97,580 Children to Receive Polio Drops During Pulse Polio Campaign in Ferozepur
Ferozepur, June 24, 2026: To keep India polio-free, a district-level Task Force meeting was held under the chairmanship of Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Dr. Amandeep Kaur to review preparations for the Pulse Polio Campaign scheduled from June 28 to 30, 2026.
The meeting was conducted under the directions of Deputy Commissioner Deep Shikha Sharma. Dr. Amandeep Kaur instructed all departments concerned to work in close coordination and ensure the campaign’s complete success. She stressed that reaching every eligible child is essential to protect them from the serious disease of polio and warned that any negligence in this regard would not be tolerated.
During the meeting, District Family Welfare Officer Dr. Vivek Rajora and Acting District Immunization Officer Dr. Shaina gave a detailed presentation on the campaign preparations, deployment of teams, coverage of high-risk areas, and responsibilities assigned to different departments.
They informed that a target has been set to administer polio drops to 97,580 children in the age group of 0-5 years across the district. For the successful implementation of the campaign, 653 polio booths, 2,342 house-to-house team members, 19 mobile teams, and 24 transit teams will be deployed. Besides, 114 supervisors will monitor and support the campaign activities.
Special focus will be given to high-risk areas of the district to ensure 100 per cent coverage of children. Special teams will be deployed in these areas so that no child remains deprived of polio vaccination.
Civil Surgeon Ferozepur Dr. Meenakshi Dhingra appealed to residents to bring all children aged 0-5 years for polio drops during the campaign and cooperate with health department teams to make the drive successful.
During the meeting, representatives of various departments assured their full cooperation for the successful completion of the Pulse Polio Campaign. Senior Medical Officers of the district were also present on the occasion.
