SIR electoral rolls in Ferozepur
Door-to-Door voter verification drive begins from June 25; BLOs to reach 7.17 lakh voters
Ferozepur, June 24, 2026: District Election Officer-cum-Deputy Commissioner Deep Shikha Sharma held a press conference with media representatives of the district regarding the door-to-door enumeration phase under the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Punjab, beginning from June 25, 2026.
Addressing the media, the District Election Officer informed that as per the schedule announced by the Election Commission of India, the door-to-door verification process in Punjab will continue from June 25 to July 24, 2026. During this period, Booth Level Officers (BLOs) of 903 polling booths in Ferozepur district will visit households and reach out to 7,17,773 registered voters for distribution, filling, and collection of enumeration forms.
She said that the objective of this special intensive revision is to ensure accurate and updated electoral rolls. She appealed to residents to cooperate with the election staff and provide necessary information for the smooth completion of the process.

The Deputy Commissioner informed that the rationalisation of polling stations will also be completed by July 24, 2026, while the draft electoral rolls will be published on August 3, 2026. Claims and objections regarding the voter lists can be submitted from August 3 to September 2, 2026, and their disposal will be completed between August 3 and September 28, 2026. The final publication of electoral rolls will take place on October 1, 2026.
She further informed that 87.61 per cent voter mapping has already been completed in the district. She urged the media fraternity to spread awareness about the SIR process and appealed to residents to assist election officials in mapping the remaining unmapped voters.
Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Dr. Amandeep Kaur, Election Tehsildar Deepak Kumar, Election Kanungo Gagandeep Kaur and other officials were present during the press conference.
