6.2-magnitude Earthquake in Afghanistan, tremors felt in Chandigarh

Chandigarh, June 27, 2026: Mild earthquake tremors were felt across Chandigarh and parts of the tricity region on Saturday after a 6.2-magnitude earthquake struck Afghanistan, according to the National Centre for Seismology (NCS).
The tremors prompted residents in several areas to evacuate homes and office buildings as a precaution.
There were no immediate reports of casualties or damage to property in Chandigarh or nearby areas. Authorities are monitoring the situation.
