Breaking: ‘Baghel Go Back’ posters surface in Sri Muktsar Sahib ahead of Punjab Congress meeting

Sri Muktsar Sahib (Punjab), August 3, 2026: Posters carrying the slogan “Baghel Go Back” were put up in Sri Muktsar Sahib ahead of a meeting of Punjab Congress leaders with the party’s state in-charge, Bhupesh Baghel, scheduled for Monday.
The slogan appears to draw inspiration from the historic “Simon Go Back” protest against the Simon Commission during British rule.
Media coverage of the meeting with Baghel has reportedly been restricted. The posters have sparked speculation about discontent within the Punjab Congress ahead of the closed-door meeting.
